San Diego Screenings

Sunday Evenings
    6:00-7:30

Free screening sessions are offered at the Brain Highways Center during our Community Screening Sessions.  These sessions are held every Sunday evening for families who live within a 30-mile radius of our site and for those who live elsewhere but are in town (and therefore can attend).  It is important that families arrive promptly at 6:00pm.
Children must be at least 3-years-old to attend.

Please note that there's a limit to how many children we can assess during any Sunday Screening Session.  That's why we do not screen more than two children from the same family on any given date.  Parents who wish to have additional children assessed can always select another screening date to do so.  While we understand this may be inconvenient for some, it ensures that multiple (rather than just a few) families are able to attend each Screening Session. Please also note that we are not able to accommodate additional siblings, even if they're not being screened.  Bottom line: Please do not bring more than two kids, and only bring those you plan on being screened.

During these sessions, visiting kids first participate in fun Brain Highways activities, while their parents learn what they’ll be observing during the screening. We then do a lower brain assessment of each child.

While there is no charge for these screening sessions, we do require that parents view all six of the short introductory videos and read Brain Development and Brain Highways Basics prior to attending. Without this foundation, parents will not understand what we are screening or what such results mean. In order to get a sense of what the actual Brain Highways program offers, we also ask that you view the one-minute Local Program Trailer.

If a date in the very near future does not appear in the drop-down selection, we've either already reached our maximum number of screening reservations for that date or the Brain Highways Center is closed on that day. Please note that we continually post new screening dates.

Please note that our brief screening should never be used as the basis for any kind of medical diagnosis, nor should it be considered equivalent to comprehensive evaluations.  It’s simply a quick way to determine whether underdeveloped early centers of the brain may be a factor in a child’s life.
